Although it is sufficient to link 3 pieces in a straight line, you can receive a higher score if you link more than three, even if they are not in a straight line.

If you link more than four pieces of candy, they will merge into a more powerful piece, which will pop everything around them, everything on the same line or column or everything of the same color, when you link them. Furthermore, the game has a complex bonuses system. You can receive all sorts of power-ups and other advantages between levels, based on your score or on how many pieces you manage to pop in a single move.

Besides simple levels, in which you have to accumulate a certain amount of points, you will have levels with other objectives. For example, you will have to pop candy in certain areas of the grid, or move specific pieces down to the bottom.
